First encounter on lamb ear

This is our first experience munching the lamb ear. Based on mummy’s research, these lamb ears are made 100% natural and free range. They are high in Protein and make a tasty snack treat. It is delicious and appetizing.

IMG_6271 IMG_6288By looking at my pictures, it can tell you that I’m very enjoyable chewing it. By the way, this is better than chewing the table’s leg. It tastes much better.

IMG_6275 IMG_6307Never thought of the taste of lamb ear. Is it tasty or tasteless? We shall see.

IMG_6317 IMG_6294Danger:”Yummy! Taste nicer but I forgot whether I have had it before.”

Heavenly Treats.

Baileys’ FIRST Barkdae Pawtee

What’s so special today?

Early in the morning, we have asked for focus to mummy’s big camera before treating us. What’s wrong, man? Nehhh!!! Is ok!! I LOVE those dehydrated pears.

IMG_6178Mummy:”Let’s go kids! We got to fetch Danger from Grandpapa’s house to the pawty area.”

IMG_6213By the way, this is Danger. We call him “BOSS”.

Our pawrents have coincided with Hugo’s pawrents to organize a barkday pawty session for us today.

Heres come the birthday boys.

1459985_10153476025910034_528993901_nLet me introduce you. This is my handsome little buddy. We have been playing and attending puppy classes together since we were 4 months old. Time really flies. We are turning 1 year old in a few days time.

1474401_10153476030490034_1588028477_nMummy always has this weird idea. She put a blue checker bow tie on me. What’s that for? For our barkday pawty?? Do I look handsome or funny with that? Hmm!! Don’t really can see that with so many furs on it.

Here comes the pawrents.

1463952_10153476029390034_1279099588_nAunty Trina (Hugo’s mummy) is the pawty deco designer today. She has drawn out those big black labels and decorated some of the walls with our names on it. A mini barkday photo booth is also her idea for those who wanted to bring back memories from us. So sweet of her!

Uncle Robby will be our photographer today and he is also the birthday boy, Hugo’s daddy. All his photos are awesome and beautiful. Do enjoy it while you are browsing. Thanks Uncle Robby!

1400729_10153476025935034_1668506640_oThis is my daddy. He will be our guardian today as mummy will be busily helping out the event.

1397837_10153476029620034_1486572154_o (1)Both mummies are taking the best shots with the birthday boys.

Let’s get started.

The barkday event is kicking off at Paw Pet-Radise Cafe from 12.30 pm to 3 pm and the cutting cake session will be around 2.30 pm. However, the bosses of the cafe (Vivian and Hui Jing) have extended our timing to 3.30 pm out of their goodwill. This pet-friendly cafe is small but is a nice gathering place for our furry little fellas. If you got chance, go check it out.

1403701_10153476030245034_268276822_oDon’t misunderstand, the menu on the board is for human. This is our mini snack bar corner for dogs’ consumption. There are dehydrated carrots, pumpkin and chicken fillets (made from my mummy) and lamb’s ear and hooves (from Aunty Trina).

Here comes our guests.

524582_10153476027680034_1429515735_nShe is my little sister, Myers. Not really a guest. As you can see, she is enjoying her little session with the yummy treats. By the way, nobody has given it to her. She has just stolen it by chance. Why? Aunty Janice has accidentally dropped the treats bottle and here comes the little Myers.

885291_10153476026515034_1930508761_oThis lady who is having her yummy potato chips dip is Aunty Lynn. She is Loukas and Messi’s mummy. Behind her is Fidele. His mummy, Karen, is sitting opposite them. Maybe Aunty Lynn has something sweet on her so that’s explained why he is there.

936026_10153476026555034_693144841_nThis is Governess Juliet. Why do we always call her “GOVERNESS”? She has her own teaching methods to correct those naughty pups. She was also once Myers’ little lecturer.

965434_10153476031785034_837427389_oWho is this little cute puppy? His name is Hershey. The youngest in the house today. His size don’t really seem like he is 4 months old.

966437_10153476026020034_59163015_oPrecious is one of our outing buddies. She’s sweet and will chase together with us. We will always meet out for any outdoor activities like trekking, garden walking, night walking and swimming.

1401683_10153476027465034_1380748551_oThis is Loukas. My mummy always love to see his sweet little face. He is older than me but I’m bigger in size than him.

1417606_10153476026650034_1676593953_oBeside Governess Juliet is Romeo. They are our little master as their mummy is our lifetime lecturer, Teacher Michelle. She has really guided us and helped us along the way since the day I had my first raw. When was it? 3 months old? I guess so. Why do I say so? She will be able to answer all kinds of difficult questions (to us is difficult) from us in an understandable form, be it diet, behaviour modification, training and many more that you cannot imagine. One word for her, AWESOME.

1452183_10153476028335034_219595091_nThis is Harley the Golden Retriever. I have not seen him for very long time since we graduated from our puppy class 2. That was in August. She has grown up so big but still very playful.

1452249_10153476028865034_1401927147_nThis is Messi. He is the biggest in size in the house. My daddy loves his big bone and big coat. We call him “BIG BEAR BEAR”.

1454802_10153476026260034_249624555_nShe is Myers’ biological sister, Miko. She is the smallest in size in the house. She loves to cuddle up with her mummy and stay on couch throughout the whole event.

1467381_10153476027230034_540528305_nThis is Danger. Not really a guest. By the way, he is the father of Hugo (the birthday boy), Myers and Miko. So sweet that Hugo’s biological dad can attend his 1st barkday. (Photo as below.)

THE CHILDThe family.

Here comes the candid shots.

My FIRST birthday present

I’m going to turn 1 in another week time. But today I have received my very FIRST birthday present from Uncle Robby.

1Blue ribbon = Cute

2Let me snif snif! See what’s inside.

3Mummy said take photo first before I start tearing off my present.

4Wow! What’s this? Ohhh!! It is not treats.

5Even though it is not my favourite treats (btw this can’t be eaten), it is definitely my mummy’s favourite toy to play with.

6ME! Happy Boy!

7This is mummy’s favourite photo. Say cheese…

You are the sunshine that makes my day.

Morning breeze @ Punggol Point

Punggol Point is located in north-east of Singapore. The jetty area is the pickup point for people going towards the Outward Bound Training Centre. This is one of the good place in Singapore for beautiful sunrise shots due to its close proximity to the east and not really surrounded by buildings.

IMG_5794Let’s check out this new place.

IMG_5795 IMG_5798 IMG_5799 IMG_5803In the past, there were 400 Chinese civilians were massacred here as part of the Sook Ching Massacre. So scary Back then, this area was known as Kangkar which means “river mouth”in Teochew.

IMG_5805This is really a nice place to have our morning walk. Green! Green! Green! But however, it is not really easy accessible for visitors as there is only one bus service is coming here (bus 85 from Punggol interchange) unless you have your own transport. Well, the parking here is also very limited. We didn’t get the chance to park at the carpark so no choice, we have to park at OBS carpark with our own risk.

Let’s continue our green green journey!

IMG_5807 IMG_5808 IMG_5814 IMG_5817 IMG_5821 IMG_5822 IMG_5824 IMG_5828 IMG_5833 IMG_5839 IMG_5843 IMG_5844 IMG_5847 IMG_5852 IMG_5854 IMG_5864What a nice walk here! As usual, mummy always love to take group photo of us.

Let’s get ready.

IMG_5922Before we go, little Myers would like to represent herself as a main model of this trip.

IMG_5934 So gorgeous of me.

Shelties are like flowers. They are everywhere.

A day with little Miko

Little Miko is coming to our house due to her Uncle is getting married today so her mummy won’t be able to look after her. On top of that, it benefits us to build up our socialization to a more advance level. Like what? The same word “Socialize”. Haha..

Before that, mummy had brought us out for a morning walk at Punggol Point. According to mummy’s saying, it is to lower down our hyperactive energy level so that we will not too excited when seeing little Miko.

Get ready! She will be here at 1.15pm.

The Sound of a Language

We are fortunate to have this group of doggies’ friends’ pawrents that are willingly to share their experience and knowledge to one another. They are wonderful buddies.

Recently, they had created a dropbox in order for them to share everything about usssss doggies. One of the articles has really attracted my mummy to start reading within days is “The Sound of a Language”. She wanted to learn more and more in order to communicate with us. Great mom!!

It talked about the communication with the dogs. As everybody know, we (dogs) usually communicate through body language (calming signal) and barking. By seeing the word ‘barking’, it has automatically linked up with the word ‘aggression’. The first reaction for many people is to stop us from barking either verbally or physically, whether it a good barking or a bad barking.

– Luckily my daddy and mummy didn’t do that to us. God Bless. –

Such reactions done are based on a lack of knowledge about dogs’ barking and people tend to over-react it by yelling or punishing the dogs. By doing this, it will create negative effect from what was intended. After mummy had read the whole manual, she has more or less understood that we (dogs) usually express our needs and emotion through vocal sounds and body language. In order to understand us, they need to interpret what are we (dogs) trying to communicate.

TIPS: Please do not punish your dog for barking as it is natural for them to do so. Think about this, human do angry n fear, so are dogs. Human do shout and yell, dogs replaced by barking.

What sounds do we make?

  • Barking
  • Whining
  • Growling
  • Howling

What are the different types of barking?

  • Excitement barking
  • Warning barking
  • Fear barking
  • Guard barking
  • Frustration barking
  • Learned barking

Mummy always said that I (Baileys) tend to bark at other dogs because I love to wag my tail when I met one. She said this is an excitement barking. This type of barking is generally pleasurable to experience. But however, it can also create a certain level of stress as it will cause me to feel frustrated when I can’t sniff at them. What will I do instead? Well, my muscles are full of adrenalin that cause me to move around and it is impossible for me to keep still. On top of that, I will twist around mummy and always entangle her legs, running here and there or spinning around. If I do any of this, mummy will stay stationary at that position until I quietly sit beside her then she will move on. I have tried to remind myself but the tendencies of seeing dogs are too high. I keep forgetting it.

TIPS: In this situation, calmness is the key word. Your calmness will influence the dog’s behaviour.

Mummy said that the reason being barking might be either I played too much or too wildly with my doggie friends or maybe I have not met enough friends.

How do I overcome this?

The best thing to do is to take walks together with those friendly adult dogs. – My mummy’s ideal doggie is governess Aunty JuJu. –

It is called parallel walking, where we walk in the same direction with other pawrents and their babies to take away the threat and stress that meeting other dogs involved. Initially, a wide distance is a must between us then decreased gradually and also walk in the same direction in a more relaxed fashion.

Let’s get started to practice.

Cotton Shredder!!

Oh! Oh! What are we going to do when mummy and daddy are back?

Are we going to hide somewhere? We better don’t welcome them home.

OMG! Who’s fault is this?

Do you still need to mention it? Ask yourself?

I’m not alone. You are part of it too.

I’m not the starter.

Daddy:”WOW! What happened?”

Mummy:”OMG! Who’s that?”  – After a long tiring day, this was what I saw when I reached home. Congrats to me!! LOL!!

Punggol Promenade Nature Walk

It had been awhile for not posting any photos here. Don’t worry! My mum did bring us out, just that she forgot to bring her DSLR to any of the outings since the last post.

Today is another muddy day. Our initial plan was to go to our favourite spot at Bishan Dog Run to meet other doggies friends but ended up we got to see grasses and river near our estate. What a BAD DAY!!

Mummy said that she wanted to try out this so called NEW PLACE as we didn’t even been here before even though it was a 5 mins drive from our home. What a SHAME of us!

This so called NEW PLACE was at Punggol Promenade Nature Walk which is located at Punggol end, along Sentul Crescent Road. It is a 2.4 km nature walk, the middle section of Punggol Promenade that lies between Punggol Point Walk and Riverside Walk.

IMG_5641IMG_5644This place has not fully developed until 31 January 2014.

From here, we can see Palau Ubin and the Straits of Johor on an elevated, ship-inspired viewing deck.

Punggol Point Walk allows us to enjoy the greenery and biodiversity flourishing along the coast.

Let’s start our trail!

IMG_5640 IMG_5642 IMG_5643 IMG_5645 IMG_5646 IMG_5650 IMG_5656 IMG_5657 IMG_5659 IMG_5663 IMG_5667 IMG_5670 IMG_5676 IMG_5677IMG_5682IMG_5688IMG_5690 IMG_5693 IMG_5702 IMG_5709 IMG_5712 IMG_5720 IMG_5721 IMG_5722IMG_5726IMG_5731 IMG_5739IMG_5746IMG_5747IMG_5762 IMG_5791

What a beautiful night!

Home Sweet Home!

Life is better with a dog.

Night walking @ Botanical Garden

We had done our day walking at Botanical Garden. Let’s start with our night walk here too.

What a great view and environment during night! Let’s enjoy to the fullest.

During this wonderful night, we must meet those wonderful shelties to go along with. Who else was going? Uncle Romeo, Aunty JuJu, Brother Hugo, Princess Precious and a new friend Fugon.

Again.. It was a muddy night after few days of heavy pouring.

There was not many people around although there was one couple who said SHHhhhh to me when I barked. Why? Can’t I use this method to communicate with my mum or friends? Are you jealous?

Nehhh.. They just don’t understand us. Too bad.

IMG_5602 IMG_5603

Mummy was trying her best to adjust her camera settings for night photo shot but she didn’t have the right equipment to do that. Too bad!!

IMG_5610 - CopyThis is our new friend, Fugon. Handsome boy.

Finally, let’s have our group photo after a 45 mins walk and 10 mins camera setting adjustment.

Shelties are like flowers, better in bunches!
