Vibrant Pets – Canine Athlete

Another supplement that you MUST TRY is Vibrant Pets Canine Athlete. It improves the overall performance levels, joint & muscle and skin & coat.

Especially for those who join agility or any sports related programs as well as those highly active family dogs, you must try this awesome product as it protects their joints and muscles from high impact activities.

A well protected and good maintenance of overall skin and coat are important for those who participate in conformation show. In order to make it better and blossom, you must try this as it enhances the coat and skin condition and also reduces itchy skin.

SAM_3318A sensitive stomach is a very uncomfortable thing to them. In order to help them, this product may relieve their uncomfortable stomach issues and also boost their immune system.

Neither sports related activities nor conformation show for both Baileys and Myers, this product will still help them in another way. They are considered super active and love to run around at dog park, I believe this product may somehow protect their joints and muscles. At the same time, I also love fluffy and big coat so I have faith in this magnificent product as it will help me to fulfil my goal.

I have been giving Baileys and Myers since Sep 2013. Based on the photos below, you may really see the differences, especially Myers.

SAM_3614This was taken before giving the Canine Athlete in Sep 2013.

In 3 months time,

IMG_5503she has really grown. Do you notice her coat? Big and Fluffly!!

How about Baileys?

SAM_3618This was taken before giving the Canine Athlete in Sep 2013.

In another 3 months time,

IMG_5561his coat has started to fill in and make him look charming.

In order to see the end result, you must be discipline to feed them daily with the correct dosage and wait patiently for the best result. I do believe everything itself will have their side effect even though they are healthy or natural products. By overfeeding them, it may not help anything but otherwise, it may worsen the overall health. Do follow the recommended dosage behind the package or consult the experts.

It is in a powder form so for me, I will sprinkle 1 spoon (based on their given spoon in the package) on their raw dinner everyday.

Good day to be AWESOME.

Milled Organic Chia Seeds

Never never skip this superfood away. You will realise how much you have missed if you haven’t started on this to your pouches.

Chia Seeds, another word Salvia Hispanica, is a flowering plant originated in southern Mexico and Central America. It was once used by Mayans and Aztecs as their essential food. The seeds consist of B vitamins, antioxidants, fatty acids, protein and fiber. It is non-allergenic and is an excellent source of phosphorus, potassium, copper, iron and zinc.

It can boost dog’s energy and endurance and also improve dog’s skin and coat, joints, vision, immune system, brain development, blood sugar levels, healthy digestion and weight maintenance.

chia seedBaileys and Myers are taking 1 teaspoon of chia seeds in one of their meal. They will not have this everyday as I will swap with other nutrients.

Bear in mind, clean fresh water should be made available to your pooches everytime to help the seeds digest more easily. Based on internet resources, the recommended dosage is 1 tablespoon for smalls dogs or 2 tablespoons for large dog or 1 quarter teaspoon to every 10 pounds of your dog’s body weight.

There are many different forms of chia seeds in the supermarket or health product shops. If you bought in seed form, remember to soak in water. The best is to look for milled organic chia seeds as above. I bought this at Jason Market ION cost about $22+. (Don’t be afraid of this price if you think is expensive. I wound’nt mind to spend more because we don’t need to give alot. Plus both dogs and human can benefit it.)

After reading this, if you are still not convinced, go to my bestie, GOOGLE.

100% Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

What are you waiting for? Give this to your pooches after you have finished reading the benefits below.

Coconut oil consists of 90% natural saturated fats which come from Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), in another word medium chain fatty acids. Like vegetable oils consist of long chain fatty acids. Although it sounds like it has a negative stigma, coconut oil is a very healthy nutritional supplement for both human and dog’s diet because 40% of MCTs contains lauric acid (has antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties), capric acid, caprylic acid, myristic acid and palmitic. At the same time, it also contains a few unsaturated fatty acids like about 2% of linoleic acid (polyunsaturated fatty acids) and about 6% of oleic acid (monounsaturated fatty acids). In addition, MCTs help balance the thyroid and efficiently metabolized in resulting higher level of energy, enhancing physical performance, prevent from illness, speedy healing and aiding weight loss for those overweight dogs. It also improves dog’s skin and coat, aids digestion and reduces allergic reactions.

Not all coconut oil are allowed for dogs. Only Virgin Coconut Oil or Extra Virgin Coconut Oil as both are unrefined oil. Likewise, you may also give Cold-pressed Virgin Coconut Oil or Organic and non-GMO coconut oil which are even better.

IMG_6323Baileys and Myers are taking this brand for 1 teaspoon in alternate day.

By feeding them regularly, extra virgin coconut oil have multiple benefits like:-

  • Improves digestion and absorption of nutrients
  • Healing of digestive upsets such as inflammatory bowel syndrome
  • Reduces or eliminates bad breath
  • Helps to eliminate hair balls and coughing

  • Lauric acid has the powerful antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties that fight against infection, cancer and disease.
  • Antioxidant
  • Balances and regulates insulin and thyroid function
  • Aids in weight lost for diabetes prevention and control
  • Energy increases
  • Aids in arthritis relief and ligament problems
  • Aids in brain energy metabolism
  • Reduces the risk of brain lesions in elder dogs.

  • Aids to clear-up eczema, flea allergies, dermatitis, itchy skin and ring worm
  • Reduces skin allergic reactions and helps to improve overall skin health
  • Improves the appearance of coats to become smooth and glossy
  • Aids to deodorize the doggy odour
  • Prevents and heals yeast and fungal infections
  • Helps to sterilize cuts and assists in wound healing, hot spots, dry skin and hair, cracked paws, insect bites and stings

For a start, you may want to give small quantity and then increase the dose gradually to the maximum allowable dosage. If it is considered a new food, giving too much or too fast may lead to loose bowels or even cause diarrhoea while their body are still adjusting the new diet. As mentioned earlier on, coconut oil has anti-bacteria, antiviral and anti-fungal function, they may respond negatively to the detox of coconut oil. If the dog shows the signs of detoxing such as lethargy, headaches, flu, fatigue and diarrhoea, just temporarily reduce the dosage and then increase gradually. Therefore, by starting slow and steady, it will cause you with no trouble. For a start, give 1/4 teaspoon per day for small dogs or puppies and 1 teaspoon per day for larger dogs and then increase slowly over time. If they have sensitive stomach, just give a dab will do. According to internet resources, the recommended dosage for 10-20 pounds of body weight for each dog is 1 teaspoon.

Although coconut oil has no negative side effect when taken, you should always seek professional opinion before adding any supplementation of coconut oil in order to know what you have given to your pooches. Like me, I will seek friends’ advice and will google it since google is my best informative friend.
